Victoria Day Long weekend

We had a fun filled weekend...

Got all set up for cycling, with Simon's training wheels off, and a baby seat for Claira on the back of my bike.  Paul put new tires on my bike too.

We did a Cycling trip, north on the Rotary Greenway trail which goes out all the way to Lakefield, and Simon found some crayfish claws, a whole dead crayfish, and a crayfish head, AND held a leech!!!

We celebrated my Birthday, had beautiful weather, I baked a Black Forest Cake, which turned out rather good.  Just 2 more adjustments to make for next time.

Also took a walk at Jackson's Creek park, which was absolutely beautiful, where I learned not to dress your kids in green when going on an nature walk!

We visited the Indian River Reptile Museum, which we learned has the largest venom bank in Canada.  They had a LOT of snakes.  It was quite amazing.

And finally, we kept the kids up late for the fireworks, and they loved it!  I was expecting a small show going from Ontario Place to Little Lake, Peterborough, but it was quite impressive.

June 2013 Parry Sound trip

We had a lovely long weekend, up in Parry Sound, visiting with family.  Aside from the bugs, the wildlife was fascinating.  We saw lots of turtles, birds, hummingbirds...

..small red squirells, chipmunks, and more.  The best was a Snapping Turtle laying eggs about 20 feet from the house for several hours, and the highlight would be a deer and a moose on our drive home.
I just caught the moose's behind as he was retreating to the forest...

We had fun setting up and coloring a cardboard play house, and got to see Auntie Sandra again.

Week 4 - Walls are going up!  It's getting pretty exciting, and again, at the end of the week, we got tarpped just in time for the Frida...
